My favorite damn season is here and I can literally SMELL Fall in the air, it’s that good to me. We have so much planned for the Fall, probably just as much as the busy Summer we had, and I’m absolutely ok with it.
Top things I’m MOST excited for in no particular order?
(If you don’t know me well, or haven’t taken a peek around D&J, then I gotta tell you I like lists. I like them a lot.)
-Getting bundled up and doing cheesy/cliché Fall date stuff with Josh
Because he’s my favorite person to adventure with and because I love being outdoors in the Fall as much as possible (especially after Summer and before Winter… so…). I’ve literally googled/pinned “Fall Bucket Lists” because I need to do all the things and I can get pretty basic when the leaves change and hot drinks don’t make you want to die. But there really are some pretty interesting things to do around Chicagoland this season and I’m here for it!
-My 31 Days of Blogoween here on the blog (ambitious, I know)
Yes, 31 days, 31 blog posts, all stemming around Halloween. I’ve been working on these for a few weeks now and I’m stoked to share them all with you. Starting Oct. 1, I’ll be posting DIYs, Decor/Food and Party Guides, all the Lists, and just some cool shit. Stay tuned!
-Decorating and sending cards
I go all out- I learned it from my Nana. I skimped last year besides a few things here and there but man, the few years before when I owned my house down in Louisiana? I created some epic-to-me things. Even a Stranger Things alphabet wall (see above). This year won’t be as great as I’d like it to be since we live in an HOA community (barf) but I’m going to make it as festive as I can! Also, did you see my Halloween Card Exchange I put out on the social medias? There’s still plenty of time to join in! Snail Mail and Halloween are fantastic, so let’s combine them, yes?
-Starting up my/our Cosplays
I get to finally start putting work into Cosplays I’ve had in my head forever. I’ll be starting out with our couples costumes for Halloween (they’ll double as a Cosplay for next year) and then beginning two others. I’m a total newbie but have some awesome friends who have been Cosplaying for years, so I’m hoping to get some tips from them as I start my journey. I’ll tell you lovelies all about my Cosplans soon, though one of them is from my “list” I posted earlier in the year.
How about you? Do you have any special plans this Fall, or have your favorite traditions? I’d love to hear about them! Also, please do come back for Blogween, I promise you’ll be in for both tricks and treats.
